Eco Factor: Audi to produce an electric mini car for urban travel.
Breaking its silence, Audi has announced that it would be producing an electric mini car for urban travel. The plan was announced by Audi CEO Rupert Stadler at the launch of the Audi A7 Sportback in Munich. The company it seems is biding its time and waiting for the right time to launch given the fact that the popularity of the electric vehicles is still in its infancy. Automakers are busy tacking technical problems involving EV mileage and lack of adequate infrastructure in place to ensure quick and easy charging.
Audi wants to wait for the time until its prospective customers would be willing to pay a premium for the Audi buy besides making improvements on the technical front. Audi also wants wait for the availability of ample clean energy resources to coincide with the launch of mini electric.
