ATP to launch world’s first bio-recyclable USB drive

Recycle a USB drive, plant a tree

The memory manufacturer ATP is coming up with a new USB drive, with a bid to contribute towards the environment, while satisfying the gizmo-geeks. Our environment is already alarmed with swelling landfills dominated by toxic disposed off electronic gadgets – most being non-biodegradable and non-bio-recyclable. And, ATP claims to have come up with the world’s first bio-recyclable USB drive!

Rightly named, EarthDrive, comes in capacities ranging from 1GB to 8GB. For this project, ATP has partnered with the American Forest Foundation, to donate some of the revenues, this new eco-friendly USB drive will generate, to the planting of trees. To add to its huge memory, the EarthDrive is also safe to use – it’s being waterproof, shockproof and even dustproof.

Though no much details on where this new recyclable USB drive will be available is given, it is priced at $20 to $100, i.e up to around £50, which is surely a bit expensive in comparison to the pen-drives’ getting cheaper these days.
