With changing times man has learnt from being just a food gatherer to a food producer and with that not only came the advent of agriculture, but also the art of building his own place of dwelling. While initially this was simple enough as he found just caves and giant tree trunks to take shelter, with time he found a way to complicate this too. (Some call it progress, but somehow it seems we as a race only know how to complicate stuff further) Over the centuries many structures have been built and most of them have always had the same predictable raw material.
But now people are trying to change the monotonous perception that only certain materials can be used to build strong structures by using old and used glass bottles to build houses. While the concept sounds wonderful, it is not something that is totally new. The first of such houses was made way back in 1902 by William F. Peck using 10,000 bottles. It was a simple square structure. With time and improved technology at disposal this also changed.
Now some really fine homes are being built out of bottles. The glass bottles obviously do not always constitute the entirety of the structure. They have been molded and used in a very crafty way to build a wonderful and compact home. They are being used in specific parts of construction so as to enhance the beauty of the structure. Those who live in these homes say that the bottles add a tranquil and lovely touch to their homes. They also produce an effect when the sun hits the bottles called stained glass effect. Due to the sun rays there are said to be kaleidoscopic rays that produce this special phenomenon.
Apart from all the above features, they help us save trash and also help stop the pile of glass bottles that need to be thrown out or recycled. It also saves all that construction material that would have been otherwise used in making of these homes. It is a nice and welcome idea that helps us make the planet a lot cleaner and eco friendly place.
