Eco Factor: Sustainable house built using recycled materials.
Architect David Hertz is trying to deliver a dream house to Francie Rehwald, which is being constructed in the remote hills of Malibu, California. Dubbed the Wing House, the eco structure is being built using about 4.5 million parts from a Boeing 747-200.
Nearly all of the plane’s 395,000 pounds are being spread over seven different structures. While the main residence dawns the plane’s wings, the cockpit is being transformed into the meditation pavilion. The first class cabin deck is the guest house. The animal bam is made by converting the lower half of the fuselage and is intended for housing endangered species.
