Eco Factor: Smart bicycle allows users to communicate with other cyclists.
After filing patents for next-generation consumer electronic devices, Apple has now filed a patent for a smart bicycle system that will enable users to communicate with other cyclists on the move. The patent calls for a system that will allow you to turn your iPod into a bike computer.
The system will wirelessly connect a team of cyclists so that they could communicate with each other to share information such as course details, information, race stats and their vital stats. The system will make use of various sensors built into the iPhone or iPod Touch in addition to sensors included into the bike itself.
