What is the true spirit of Christmas? No, I don not intend to get on to a religious debate, but to the best of my knowledge (which is not much) the true spirit of the festive season is to spread joy and love to one and all. Of course, it is also to give me gifts, but that part we will discuss about a bit later. While we chop down tress to decorate our homes, we not only are hurting the planet, but also taking away life. I’m sure that is definitely not what the Lord asked us to do.
Well here is a Christmas gift that sure is to make everyone happy. A wonderful designer from Australian graphic designers Buro North has created an eco friendly plywood Christmas tree. It is called Buro North Eco Plywood Christmas Tree. (Creative design, but not a very creative name, I guess)
The tree is made from plywood which is shaped in a very green way. The entire process hampers environment to the least possible extent so as to keep the making process as eco friendly as possible. Eco Plywood is “80% more environmentally friendly” than a traditional fir or spruce. The Eco Plywood Christmas tree is made with environmentally aware ingredients, a low energy technique and minimal waste materials.
While it might not give the same feeling as a real Christmas tree, it surely can be made to look a bit better by personalizing it to our taste. Buro North Eco Christmas trees come in three sizes small ($60), medium ($200) and large ($1619). The important fact to note is that you can use one for several years. So start spreading a new Christmas revolution.
