To give you the best of both worlds, Amp Electric Vehicles has recently converted a Chevrolet Equinox into an EV that offers greater range and more capacity than the Volt and is all-battery powered like the Nissan Leaf. The all-electric Chevy Equinox is a luxurious 5-seater that offers a comfortable ride without emitting fumes into the air.
Using the same powertrain as the Amp Saturn Sky, this new green Amp Equinox has remarkable acceleration. Amp ditches the lithium-ion batteries and uses lithium-iron phosphate batteries, which help in achieving an estimated range of 150 miles. The conversion cost for the Equinox is about $25,000 and the first two are scheduled to be delivered to Dayton Power and Light later this year for testing use as fleet vehicles.
