Eco-friendly cars are in trend these days. With rapid technological development in vehicle manufacture, competitors are forced to come up with more unique and new features. More importantly, given the current environmental status, they also have a responsibility to make these vehicles eco-friendly. So, on those lines the first commercial car powered by compressed air is soon to give a grand entry. This car, manufactured by Tata motors, has a built-in compressor which can be filled with air at air stations and requires over-night compression for use. The car can manage a decent speed of 68MPH and a range of 125 miles. However, the car designers are working at upgrading it to a hybrid version that can compress air while in operation thus saving compression time and not requiring waiting. This improvisation would render ever cross-India journeys a possibility. The hitch though, is that it isn’t emission free as it uses fossil fuels for the electricity.
