Eco Factor: Zero-emission bike powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The Ahi Fambeni zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell powered bike has recently been launched in South Africa. Designed by renowned motorcycle designer Pierre Terblanche, the bike has been made from lightweight and strong materials and was built by students from the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria.

The hydrogen storage technology used in the bike was developed by Hydrogen SA systems. The new bike is intended to provide cheap transport to people living in rural villages. The design team is also planning to develop a fuel cell powered tricycle (pictured above) and a fuel cell powered car in the near future.
