Eco Factor: Eco-friendly twin towers utilize state-of-the-art advanced modeling and sustainable design techniques.
After winning an international competition to design a landmark development for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, the world’s fifth largest architecture firm Aedas has collaborated with Arup to finally shape up its design. The 25-story ADIA Headquarters Towers are innovative honeycomb structures that exhibit a perfect balance between Islamic architecture and modern design.
Utilizing state-of-the-art advanced modeling and sustainable design techniques, the twin towers aims to achieve LEED certification. The green towers are covered from top to bottom with a “mashrabiya” screen, which opens and closes in response to the position of the sun, reducing the solar heat gain and providing a more comfortable internal environment.
Located at the Al Qurum Beach, the high-rise structures will provide working areas and private amenities for 2,000 people. Three sky-gardens at the top reduce solar heat gain on the most exposed elevation. These amazing twins are scheduled for completion in 2012.
