Eco Factor: Energy generating prefabricated classrooms made from sustainable materials.
Designers over at Anderson Anderson Architecture have come up with prefabricated classrooms that also provide an optimized educational environment for students and teachers while making them aware about the need to conserve the environment.
The energy-neutral classrooms conserve resources including energy and water and are prefabricated off-site. Once developed, these classrooms can be transported in two or three modules, reducing initial cost and energy.
The building features an optimized photovoltaic roof surface and naturally shaded north-facing daylight glazing and modulated natural ventilation. A steel frame and steel and rigid foam sandwich panel floor and roof system minimize material user and maximize insulation to lower energy demands.
