A recycled green reminder of the jazz and the blues!

Music is one of the many forms of art that transcends time, geographical borders and cultural backgrounds. The fact that a great piece of composition remains eternally etched in our minds and our hearts despite moving away from it tells you what a telling and ever-lasting impact it leaves on us. I have always been a huge fan of the wind instruments and they really are the best when it comes to either the soothing or the haunting tunes. Nothing goes better with a nostalgic trip down the memory lane than some blues. Here is a giant tribute to the part the saxophone played in all that.

This gigantic saxophone stands near a bar in Houston, Texas and it immediately takes you back to the 80’s when everything was swinging and bright and a lot more frantic than today. The bright dazzling red makes the whole thing come alive. But then why am I going on and on about this in a place where I should be bothered about the next big eco-breakthrough or that amazing green product made out of crap?

Well, it is because this giant saxophone has been made out of crap too. This time around it is the auto crap that makes up the tall structure. The whole thing is made out of only recycled auto parts and nothing else and that is taking a huge chunk out of Houston’s dump. This is indeed pretty cool and I’m still waiting for the day they build perfectly good new homes out of trash, crap and bubble wrap!
