Nope, I’m not kidding. This isn’t one of those times when I tell you a story & then say at the end of it that I was just taking you for a ride. This is true. Here is a piece of furniture that most likely has seen more of the world than you ever have. These rolling cabinets (yes, that’s what the flashy things in the photo are), have traveled the world & now want to spend the remainder of their life in your tranquil home. That is provided you choose to invite them into your place that is.
Here is the latest concept of re-sale. A German company named Bordbar has come out with this unique idea of selling old airplane trolleys as rolling cabinets by redoing them in wacky ways (yup, I know, these Germans just about manage to do anything). Now one look at it & you will know why I call them “wacky”. But the idea is a refreshing one. It is unique & a chance to own an exciting piece of furniture. It comes loaded with various features & is very flexible. But even the price is loaded at 899 Euros.
Guess what comes along as bonus? It seems these guys do not alter & repair any dents as that would jeopardize the authentic originality of the product. They call it “authenticity”. I call it “marketing Brilliance”. They do add tangy colors, shelves & other stuff at the wish of the customer. Now if there is a trolley in there that traveled with Sachin Tendulkar, Princess Diana & Jennifer Anniston on a plane, then make way, I’m buying that one. What? Oh come on, even you would if you had a chance. Right? Now let me start counting how many Euros I have saved. 1…2…3…ok, can I borrow 896 Euros from someone? Anyone?
