A building that changes shape and generates electricity!

concept wind structure

It is astonishing to see such a marvelous piece of work, blending creative art, architecture and renewable energy to surpass the boundaries of imagination and architecture.

A complete head turner, the wind shaped pavilion is a very unique design proposal for any building. The design allows the pavilion to change shape when the wind blows and also generate electricity to illuminate the building during night!

The complete structure made out of light weighted fabric has six main segments. This allows each of the six main segments to rotate slowly around the central open support frame as the winds flow and hence the shape of the pavilion changes.

The design which is originally symmetrical, The Pavilion’s shape coming back to original has not been noticed till now. Light is also generated in the process which can be used to illuminate the building at night.

This surreal design by California based designer and artist Michael Jantzen, the wind shaped pavilion could be used commercially or as an apartment space if the material used and the scale were to change. Just come to think of it. The occupants will have the power to control. Just rotate a segment and one could change the view!

It surely is mind boggling. The design which is just a concept till now is worth a wait to watch what it turns out to be in real.
