Are you ‘GOOD’ enough to waste less?

Waste

GOOD has been consistently coming up with eco challenges for green thinkers and earth lovers every month. This month’s challenge demands you to waste less. GOOD has some interesting statistics to share, such as an average American produces about 4.4 pounds of garbage each day, which accumulates in the landfills, polluting the ecosystem faster than we all think. Moreover, every year the residents and businesses of Phoenix alone send one million tons of solid waste to landfill – that’s a lot.

The GOOD Challenge for this month is to cut down on waste, which could be done in a number of ways, such as by using a recycled shopping bag, drinking filtered tap water rather than buying new bottles of packaged water and turning your kitchen waste into useful compost for your garden. Regardless of whatever way you chose to reduce the waste you produce, your goal should be of producing just one paper grocery bag of trash every week. That’s difficult, but we are all in support of this challenge as we know and have always believed that even the smallest of efforts does count.
