How would you address this product in respect to health hazards – encouraging or discouraging smokers? Josh Owen gave birth to this dilemma of thought for the users of this product. It is the Don’t Ashtray.
Well said, ‘The Don’t Ashtray is an exercise in civility’. True, it is not made from any recycled materials, nor is biodegradable, but, its employment of graphic iconography is an attempt to negatively influence the smoker against his or her habit while at the same time providing a receptacle for it.
Josh Owen is an industrial designer and is well known for his work exploring the boundaries between art and design. The unique astray is made from ceramic with rubber bottom. It is prized at $10.00.
