Witness a boat race, and that too solar powered? Then be there in Netherlands between June 26 and July 1. Named Frisian Nuon Solar Challenge, the competition will be using the first Dutch fuel cell boat for the official in charges.
The boats powered by electricity will be using hydrogen as fuel. And, to add to its environment friendliness, it is also fuel efficient to the extent that it will be covering the 220 kilometers of the race without refueling!
Thus, the boats are very cost-effective too. These boats if produced in large numbers can help contribute in reducing air pollution from the marine transport sector and that too within two years for sure.
