U.S. will be getting the largest solar energy vineyard project soon. To develop it, a collaborative effort has been announced by Fetzer Vineyards. And MMA Renewable Ventures and 3 Phases Energy Services will be delivering the cost-effective solar energy solution.
MMA Renewable Ventures is a specialist in innovative renewable energy project finance and 3 Phases Energy Services is a developer and marketer of renewable energy.
The project will generate 901-kilowatt photovoltaic power. The cells will be positioned at Fetzer’s Hopland, Calif., winery. They will be placed on the bottling facility and Red Wine Barrel Room’s roofs. And this set-up will generate 1.1 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity each year. This installation will hence supply 80 percent of electricity needs of the bottling plant.
Once it starts running, the Fetzer solar array will be able to offset more than 960,000 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions! This is equivalent to taking off approximately 80 cars form the road for a year, or is equal to planting 130 acres of trees.
