Biodegradable plant pots made from poultry feathers, cheese proteins!

Colourful designer potteries, especially the porcelain ones are no doubt things to posses, to add on to your living room environment. But, what when they are broken or damaged – to be left only to head for the landfill! What about the burdening environment.

Keeping this in mind, researchers aim at designing and building a nursery container that is completely biodegradable. It will be made from farm products’ leftovers, so that the pots holding the nursery plants could be as biodegradable as the plants they contain are.

As ingredients, the researchers are studying several agricultural by-products – which include poultry feathers and cheese proteins.
