A new software program is being developed that will be capable of mapping the consistency of rainfall, on which farmers rely on for ensuring good crop growth. Though it is still too early for the new tool to pinpoint the trends to locations, it will be of great help both for the plantations and the farmers.
Thanks to Greg Laughlin, who has helped scientists in Canberra develop this new tool. He said,
With 300 sites we are basically going to go through and analyse for all four seasons – or indeed four growing seasons, which may be different combinations of calendar seasons – we’re going to analyse each one of those sites for all seasons…
