The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign scientists have developed a new chemical catalyst that uses hydrogen to effectively get groundwater water rid of perchlorate — found in solid-rocket fuel, roadside flares and fireworks.
Perchlorate exposures affect infants and fetuses particularly. So, this finding would bring a great relief for the world suffering from water-borne disease – especially suffering from such diseases, whose source is unknown – and can get their groundwater rid of this hazardous chemical safely before use.
