Now, make a better use of your shit ‘ recycle it by using it as a fertilizer on food crops! It is neither harmful for the environment, nor for your health. Rather, it is environment-friendly, as processed human waste is a safe fertilizer for your crops, says a Queensland’s Department of Primary Industries’ researcher.
The Queensland project manager, Dr Mike Bell says that the processed waste is the by-product of the water recycling process and can be used safely. As part of a four-year nationwide project, the CSIRO is coordinating the research.
Dr Bell said,
As we run down the natural fertility by removing grains and forages from our land, we’re having to increasingly rely on fertilisers to replace or maintain that productivity’ Now we’re starting to see potassium decline and we’re seeing trace elements decline, so it makes sense.
