We have surely come a long way since November 1881 when the first near- electric three wheeled automobile was showcased in Paris.
Since then a lot of experimentation has been going on in every part of the world to make the cars zero pollution and almost zero noise. A lot of progress has been made and we have seen models like Indian Reva and Toyota RAV4EV.
Almost every automobile major has explored this highly potential area and joining the league is Nissan.
Dispalyed during the Frakfurt Motor show recently, Mixim’s design, a complete dream come true, would have driver’s seat in the middle with two passenger seats on either sides. Much to the amaze of car freaks, its doors open like spread wings!
Aimed at the gizmo freak youth of today, the interiors feature a computer inspired lay out with diamond shaped cut outs glittering in the cabin.
Awestruck that I am as I write, there is more to this car’s kitty.
A super motor electric engine, running on compact lithium- ion battery arrangement, two separate motors power the bat man like machine, one in the rear axle and one in the front.
The design is so compact that it gives a sporting performance like feel to the whole car , unexpected from an EV (electric vehicle).
This amazing piece of design would become reality by 2010, when the car is expected to hit the roads in Japan and in Europe by 2012.
The price, not disclosed as of now, might make it out of reach for many but sure this car will make hearts pound!
