South America opts for recycling C&D wastes

To make environment clean and green, mayor of Sao Paulo in South America has announced a few city projects involving recycled civil construction and demolition (C&D) wastes.

A similar kind of decree is being signed by the mayor of Curitiba, Beto Richa. This is one of the greenest metropolis of South America. Approximately 2300 metric tons of C&D wastes are being generated in Curitiba daily. According to the city administrayion, it is their daily routine to repair 14 kms of asphalt pavement.

Richa is expecting this decree will surely do wonders to the recycling of C&D wastes. Quality of the recycled materials which are being utilized in the paving contracts will be released within 180 days.

On the other hand, Natal is planning to establish own C& D waste recycling facility worth $50,000. In order to fulfill even the minute requirements of this facilty, various departments are working hard.

They are planning to create on land in Bom Pastor. With this recycling facility project, Natal would be able to collect 50 percent of C&D waste collection. It will resale this waste at a price 40m percent lower than the unused material.
