Solar energy is spreading its wings & stretching its reach with each passing day. As the world comes to terms with the fact that it cannot rely on ever depleting sources of natural fossil fuel, it seeks to explore the other fronts available. The problem with solar energy does not lie in its availability or the emissions that occur with its usage. The energy of the sun is available in abundance & it has zero emissions. But the problem is with our ability to harness this wonderful technology & to be able to maximize its usage.

With each passing day, the solar technology frontier is expanding its range & with it also conquering new peaks. This means that there are constant new challenges to face & troubles to overcome. Every problem is an opportunity. That is the perception that is inherently present in any innovator of technology. Hence, the market has offered great home to anyone & everyone who is prepared to take on a challenge & mount the peaks.

Applied Materials, which is based in California has opened SunFab Technology Center in Alzenau, Germany. Applied Materials is one of those many companies that seek the challenge of making the world go solar in the next century. With growing needs for solar cells & photo voltaic cells across the globe the company has decided to step up its game by a couple of notches & to produce the product that caters to the growing demands of the world.

This is another positive step towards a brighter & sunnier future for the world as it moves forward on the wheels of solar energy. According to the company;

The 2,000 square meter center, will serve as Applied Materials’ principal solar research and development center. The center includes Applied Materials’ PECVD and ATON PVD systems, laser tools and fabulous automation software. It also includes a complete sequence of equipment that is representative of the Applied SunFab Thin Film Line for large-volume manufacturing of solar circuits.

With Germany being the most progressive nation & most pro-active regarding solar energy usage, the step should not come as a surprise to any. The step only proves the growing global market in the solar energy field.
