Rechargable batteries: Better option than disposable counterparts

Rechargable batteries are the talk of the season. Here is further proof that they are easy on the environment and equally efficient as regular ones.

The making of rechargeable batteries doesn’t involve any less toxic chemicals than that of ordinary batteries. But according to a study by rechargeable battery makers Uniross, rechargeable batteries have 32 times less impact on the environment and use less 1/23rd the natural resources of their disposable brethren.

Moreover, disposable batteries are dumped in truckloads at landfills, choking up the environment and polluting groundwater by leaking out harmful chemicals. At least the rechargeable ones save the environment from this ordeal. With the average household consuming, on an average, 21 batteries every year, the rechargeable batteries save a lot of damage.

It’s true that they are more expensive than disposable ones, but are obviously cheaper in the long run.
