In an extravagant world, the strategies of frugal living would come in handy as far as conservation of natural resources is concerned. A commendable effort has been taken by the Encore energy systems at Virginia in this direction. A plan to make their technology for greywater-based geothermal heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) available to waste water treatment plants (WWTP) in Massachusetts has been undertaken.
This will help them to up their savings by at least 70 percent. The source of the grey water is the residential waste water and can be distinguished from black water, the latter being a more polluted form from industrial waste or pure sewage.
This is an endeavor to pursue Massachusetts’ goal of cutting down costs as well as carbon dioxide emission. Brian Mello, senior vice president, Encore expressed his excitement in an interview, “Bringing this technology to the state of Mass is an exciting time for me personally, a New Bedford native, I’m looking forward to working with the state agencies and making a positive environmental impact there. We are popular within the WWTP industry because they consume so much energy, but our technology has applications throughout every industry, business, or residential development.”
Kudos to Encore for making one of those attempts that will make the world say, “Encore!”
