Maciej Ojrzanowski has truly come up with a fantastic and amazingly practical design for the modern urban taxi and that pretty much is all you can say when you see something that is not just designed to fit in to the future but also incorporates every little detail to makes sure that you have a completely hassle- free ride when you really need one. The urban taxi seems to lack a name and we are tempted to call it ‘Little Delight’ as that is exactly what it is. Now one surely hopes people come up with a lot better name than that but why is it really that special?
For starters it keeps the design simple and specific and as I have stated many times before, people often try forcing in too many features in the same one vehicle and ultimately ruin it. Sometimes having a singular motive and working towards it is equally good and comes out very well. This little cab is designed only to be just that and it transports only one person at a time. It is hard to fault that as most often it is only one person travelling in most cabs. The aerodynamics and the ergonomics of this are almost perfect as it demands little space.
The taxi also has wonderful LED display to tell you if it is free or busy which means that even in some amount of fog you will have pretty clear idea. The doors slide open to make sure that parking is easy and that you won’t have to struggle with it while leaving for office. It has an electric engine delivering about 15 kW drives rear wheel with no gearbox. Modern electric engines have enough torque to move such vehicle at very low revs. There is no need to use heavy, expensive differential gear. Zero-emission drive allows using the taxi wherever combustion engines are banned. All in all, this truly is the next urban vehicle that is perfect for commuting. We really hope that designs like this one and others see daylight as it would only mean great future towards a clean and green planet!
