The problem with most eco-gadgets is that they work great on the green features but most often the design and dynamics compromise on the normally spectacular features that modern gadgets come with, or at least that is the perception with many. But one look at the Eclipse Intuit will change that perception and is sure going to encourage many more to take a look and give eco-friendly products a good shot. That is exactly why we think the Eclipse is such a wonderful addition to the green bandwagon and of course the fact that I really happen to like mobiles as well.
Designed by Eddie Goh it’s got all the basic stuff we’ve come to expect from our mobiles; powerful 5 megapixel camera with built-in software for editing and uploading to a photo album, slide-out touch keyboard with tactile feedback, and a nice big touch-screen front and centre. What makes this concept unique is parts of the phone are made from a chemically based thin solar skin to charge the battery when exposed to any kind of light. The phone runs on solar charge and is as good as any when it comes to style and design.
The Eclipse shows that green products can be as trendy and wonderful as the normal ones and they are far more useful because of their eco-friendly nature. One hopes to see more stuff falling in the same category and with same amount of style and substance.
