Like most “normal” kids of my generation, I too spent many a summer days perfecting my wrist action in the extreme sport of Yo-Yo. Although I was always scolded for wasting my time playing with a stupid toy when I could be acquiring knowledge about stuff like how to paint inside the lines and arranging flowers or even setting up the table for tea parties (yuck!). But I knew playing with my orange and green Yo-Yo wasn’t stupid and that’s why I feel so redeemed by the Pullight Dynamo. Created by designer Sebastien Sauvage, the gizmo uses the same principles employed by a Yo-Yo to create a string-powered dynamo that uses a 3 phase motor running on very little kinetic energy.
The splash proof thing may look no better than a cheap toy but it can charge small devices like mobile phone or iPod with ease. Righteous!
