In life it happens at times that the simplest of things are the most difficult to get done. In most fields we ignore the simple basics and that can cost us a lot. It is the larger and grander things that always occupy our minds allowing us to make some fundamental mistakes that lead to the final product not achieving the desired results. The RV has been around for long and not till lately has anyone been ever bothered about how clean and green these moving automobile homes have been. Most often that is not a point of consideration at all. But with growing crude oil prices, “How many miles per gallon”, is a question everyone is asking more often.

In that simple question lay a far more important stat that is actually of greater consequence to the planet. It shows the fuel efficiency and in turn the amount of fossil fuel we burn to drive our mobile shelters around. So here are some ways in which you can maybe change the present RV so that the future ones are a lot kinder towards both the planet and your pocket!

The reduction of weight would be a step in the right direction. This could be accomplished by the use of lighter materials and structural design techniques. Using lighter material can have some costs challenges as it still has to be as strong. Reducing the engine size is probably a given, that also needs to be done. Similar to the automobile industry in the early ‘70’s, a decrease in horse power and engine size may be in order. Add to that more efficient ways to get the power to the Wheels and better aerodynamics and you have a much better package as a whole. I’m sure the pros could come up with millions of other stuff!
