Eco Factor: Energy-efficient floor mats to replace space heaters.
Martinson-Nicholls has launched a new heated work mat that promises to keep your carbon footprint under control even in the coldest of winter days. While traditional space heaters consume a whopping 1000 watts of energy, these new heated work mats do the same job consuming just 270 watts. The mats not only prove to be an energy-efficient heating appliance, but they do provide heat where it’s most needed – on the floor.
The mats are made of rubber that makes it suitable for heavy foot traffic. Users may also opt for a timer based mat that turns off automatically after a preset time. The light weight of the mat makes it easier to move so that users can move it easily to the coldest part of the floor. These rubber mats can easily be cleaned with soap and water if someone steps on these mats after a nice gardening session.
The Dark Side:
The energy efficiency of these mats is commendable. We appreciate the overall design, however, we still believe that people will stay go for energy guzzling heaters because not all work places require employees to remove their shoes before entering the work space.
