Eco Factor: Solar powered charger will provide clean energy to bikes.
The new Infineum range of e-bikes from BikeBiz might come with Powacycle’s solar charger, which is under development. This will set you free from a plug-in job to charge your bike. Like a portable module, users can carry it along with them by attaching it to luggage rack of bike that carries batteries. While riding, close the module and spread it like a sheet when not in use. The charger includes three high efficiency polycrystalline solar panels capable of offering a combined rating of 15W at 0.4A. Although there are number of electric bikes on the market, Harlow-based Akhter, the parent company of the bike brand, can tightened the grip on market due to a strong background in battery technologies and solar paneling. The charger is going through final testing and hopefully will be ready in next few months.
The Dark Side: There is no doubt that electric bikes are an ethical way of individual mobility as the emission aspect is zero. However, these bikes can’t compete with hi-end stylish bikes and may face rejection from the younger generation. They can save you money and the environment, but force you to compromise your time schedule.
