Conserving electricity is the need of the hour in this energy deprived world of today. We have seen some energy monitors in the past, some with wilting flowers and others that are too futuristic for today’s world. Here is another device from the house of designer Rocco Avallone. The O.E.I, as it has been named, is actually an egg-shaped energy monitor with a touchscreen light switch that represents the energy being consumed in various formats.
The cool-looking device receives information through radio frequencies and makes use of existing power lines to reduce the mess caused by cables. The Our Energy Information (O.E.I) monitor tries to deliver real-time energy stats for you to take immediate action to curtail energy use.
The Dark Side:
Like some other monitors we’ve already seen, this one too looks a bit too futuristic for a launch anytime soon. However, with energy estimated to be an even graver problem in the future, devices like this do have a bright future.
