The newest server system from Appro comes with modern technology that not only makes it one of the most powerful systems in its class, but with integrated green features it also is one of the most ecofriendly available on the market today. Known as the GreenBlade Server System, the architecture offers a variety of energy-efficient features that aim to lower operational costs without sacrificing on high-end performance.
The GreenBlade system houses server, storage, network, power and management capabilities, all of which depend on quad-core Opteron processors developed by AMD. Instead of having a unique power and cooling system for each blade, the GreenBlade system shares power and cooling throughout its 5U rack. The system can handle up to 10 dual-chip blades with as many as 80 processing cores.
The Dark Side:
The cost of the system will definitely be high when compared with other servers of its class. However, with all those energy-efficient features integrated in the system that extra cost could well be earned back in the form of energy savings.
