Eco Factor: Solar-powered portable batteries.
We have always encouraged our readers to depend more on renewable energy and try purchasing solar-powered gadgets, or at least use renewable energy at home to charge their portable electronic gear. Using solar power or wind power for portable gadgets is cool, but what about those old rechargeable batteries that you might have been using for ages? No, you can’t just dump them, as they’ll end up polluting the water you drink. Confused? Don’t be so, as Knut Karlsen has a simple answer – wrap flexible solar panels over those old rechargeable NiMH batteries and you’re good to go.
Karlsen accepts that the charge is not as much as you want and the batteries do take a while to get fully charged, but being ecofriendly is what we are talking about here, isn’t it?
