Eco Factor: Hotel builds new suite from Boeing 727 fuselage.

We’ve seen aircraft fuselages being converted into green hotels in the past too, and the Hotel Costa Verde in Costa Rica is doing just that to make your next Costa Rican trip memorable. Hotel authorities here have designed a two bedroom suite made from a refurbished 1965 Boeing 727 fuselage. The aircraft which once flew for South African Air and Avianca Airlines now tries to make you feel you’re sleeping over the clouds. The airframe was salvaged from the San Jose, Costa Rica airport in pieces, which was individually transported and reassembled on site.

The Dark Side:

The hotel authorities have done well to the environment by protecting an airframe from being recycled in a un-ecofriendly way. However, with teak furnishings on the inside, these green dreams are short lived.
