Eco Factor: Hybrid Hummer H3 gets 100mpg.
Hummers are known to be polluters, and with their monstrous size, fuel-guzzling engine and the materials involved make them some of the most un-ecofriendly rides. However, Raser Technologies is trying to better the image of this monstrous SUV by adding its E-REV power train plug-in electric engine that generates 268hp, a 40 mile all-electric range and a fuel efficiency of over 100mpg.
Though the fuel-efficiency would make environmentalists happy, the excitement remains short-lived, as Raser Technologies states that the fuel-efficiency of 100mpg suffers drastically if the user drives more than 40 miles, but it still remains better than a standard Hummer.
