Eco Factor: Housing complex design powered by PV walls.
Paris-based LAN Architects have designed a stunning residential complex for Paris which is both slim and green. The project’s compactness, inherited from urban choices, is the occasion to reach very high thermal performances. The building, according to the architects, is just like a thermos flask with two superimposed layers protecting the inhabitants from extreme heat or cold.
The outermost layer of this dual skin is lined with photovoltaic panels that generate electricity for the entire complex. Apart from generating energy, the PV walls will also serve as a sun barrier all year long, which will give the building high thermal performance.
