When on the open waters the speed of the yacht you’re in depends on your mood, sometimes you want a slow ride enjoying each and every wave, and during other times you just want the waves to tear apart to make way for your yacht. If yachts are not always in need of furious power, why don’t all of them have a dual-engine configuration that lets you save on gas if your mood isn’t to rule on the sea? If not all, at least the Code-X Yacht does offer you this capability.
The 47′ 7” catamaran comes with a hybrid engine that can either give you a thumping 710hp by twin Ilmor Formula 1 engines to propel the yacht at a speed in excess of 80 knots or a more leisurely 9 knots using its twin electric motors. The battery pack has the capability to run continuously for two hours and can be recharged using the on-board solar panels for additional leisure.
The yacht includes touchscreen controls, a Kevlar/carbon shell with phototropic-shaded screens and windows and a GPS-controlled “Virtual Anchor” system, which enables the yacht to remain stationary irrespective of the wind speed or the currents.
