Eco Factor: Solar harnessing architecture by Studio Shift.
In a bid to green the skyline of Taiwan, Studio Shift has designed a modern complex for Taiwan’s Center for Disease Control, which apart from possessing a landscaped roof, is composed of passive and active solar technologies that lower the carbon footprint of the architecture. The complex is slated to serve as the gateway to the future development of the Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park, which is expected to boast green features.
The CDC is designed with a mammoth landscaped roof, which would also help regulate the temperature of the interiors. The building also features solar power collectors, solar shading technologies, use of geothermal energy, reclamation strategies and efforts would also be put to reduce the overall energy consumption of the building.
