Eco Factor: Bluetooth headset harnesses solar energy for infinite standby time.

Bluetooth headsets are popular because of their ability to let users talk without worrying about cable connections. However, most of these headsets need a docking station once they run out of juice. The latest Bluetooth device that comes from Hong Kong-based i.Tech Dynamic truly does away with wires, since the device is continuously charged via solar energy.

The device, dubbed SolarVoice, 908 weighs 13.5g and features a built-in solar panel that harnesses solar energy whenever the panel faces the sun. The company claims that the device takes 15 hours of sunlight for a complete charge, after which it offers about 5 hours of talk time. The company still recommends charging from a USB port or via AC mains when using the device for the first time.

The device is priced at $73 and comes with four earbuds of different sizes and a cradle to hold the headset so that the solar panels face the sun directly. The SolarVoice 908 will be made available in Singapore from September 10.
