Eco Factor: PV power plant to be built in Jiangsu province in China.
Suntech Power Holdings Company has announced a partnership with Huadian New Energy Development Co. to develop a 10MW solar power plant in Dongtai, Jiangsu Province in China. Suntech will supply high quality solar modules and design and manage the installation of the plant.
The Dongtai solar plant, which is expected to be complete by the end of this year, will make use of more than 37,000 solar panels and is projected to displace approximately 15,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. The project is expected to be supported by the Jiangsu Province’s feed-in-tariff policy that provides 2.15RMB/kWh for ground-mount solar projects completed in 2009.
