Eco Factor: Dale Vince to attempt electric land speed record.

Dale Vince, the founder of green energy supplier Ecotricity, will be attempting to break the land speed record in an all-electric vehicle dubbed the Nemesis. The record currently stands at 137mph, which will be challenged by the wind-powered electric vehicle.

The car has been designed by Formula 1 engineers at the cost of about £400,000. During tests, the car hit a speed of 60mph in less than 4 seconds and has an operating range of about 150mph. Apart from its renewable charging capabilities, the all-electric vehicle can be powered in one hour from a high charge station or eight hours from the mains supply.
