Eco Factor: Zero-emission car powered by electricity.
BMW recently showcased its all-electric concept car, the Active-E. According to reports, the concept car will see limited production later this year and will begin extended field tests early next year. The program seems similar to the limited, BMW-owned Mini-E electric car trials, where around 450 customers leased the vehicle for $850 per month.
The zero-emission vehicle is based on the BMW 1 Series coupe and is powered by a 125KW motor that churns out 170hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The electric engine propels the car to 60mph in about 8.5 seconds and the onboard batteries offer a range of 100 miles on a single charge.
