Tajima Motor Corp has unveiled an all-electric single-seater vehicle at the 1st EV & HEV Drive System Technology Expo in Tokyo. The vehicle looks much like a Formula car and features a lightweight and aerodynamic body.
Priced at about $23,018, without a battery, the vehicle which is categorized as a motorized bicycle in Japan has a motor output of 0.59KW, which can be powered by either lead batteries or lithium polymer batteries rated at current capacities from 40 to 120Ah.
The company claims that with an inexpensive lead acid battery, the vehicle will have a range of about 25km, which can be enhanced by choosing a lithium counterpart, which offers a range of about 90km at a top speed of 70kph.
