Eco Factor: Residential development plan to make use of renewable energy sources.
Las Vegas has been synonymous with striking developments and hotels that at all points challenge conventional architecture. Work Architecture Company is now proposing a green residential community that will make the best use of natural elements.
Dubbed the Green Belt City, the 15,000-unit, 60-acre residential development is being imagined as a new type of community with new forms of urban space. The development features three “hearts” which includes private parks, a spa and a cultural hub.
The site will capture wastewater and filter it with a unique “living machine” that also acts as a green screen for the parking structure. The development’s three towers will provide ecological infrastructure including photovoltaic cells and integrated wind turbines for electricity generation, for the community and its electric car recharging stations.
