Eco Factor: Portable water purifier encourages users to consume tap water.

According to statistics about 29.8 billion plastic water bottles are purchased every year and about 80 percent of that ends up in landfills. Plastic takes thousands of years to decompose and recycling a single plastic bottle can conserve enough energy to light a 60W light bulb for six hours. Indian design firm Kiba Design has unveiled a solution for both the developed and the developing nations in the form of a portable water purifier dubbed the H2Go.

The H2Go water purifier emphasizes the fun donut form of the bottle as an invitation to carry a water bottle rather than purchasing bottled water. The purifier uses silver-impregnated activated carbon filters and a micro-filtration membrane. The filter is passed though water using the serrated disc, leaving behind clean and potable water. The device also features separate wall compartments to ensure that purified and unfiltered water never mix with each other.
