Australian National Park welcomes recycled bike trail

australia ink cartridge trail

Eco Factor: Eco-friendly pathway made from recycled ink cartridges.

Until now, you have seen the bikes dash through either rough, muddy terrain or metalled road. But, now it’s time to test a completely new kind of pathway. Folks at West MacDonnell National Park in Australia have developed one-of-a-kind bike path to connect Alice Springs and Simpsons Gap. The path is made using junked ink cartridges.

The 17km path and a new viewing platform promise great durability thanks to the recycled plastic material used in its making. Preventing junk ink cartridges from ending in landfills, this ingenious work cut down on cost too and took only $130,000 to complete. Now get prepared for an eco-friendly ride on your green means of transport.
