Eco Factor: Sustainable house powered entirely by renewable energy.

Spanish company Think CO2 has created modular prefabricated homes that run entirely on renewable solar energy. Dubbed NoEm – No Emission House, the unit incorporates UNI-SOLAR PV-laminates on the roof that generate all the electricity the house needs.

The NoEm house is ready to purchase and is designed with local materials that eliminate the house’s carbon footprint. The modular house can easily be customized to suit individual requirements. Combining two types of modules – a technologic nucleus (Hub) and an open space (Space), the house can be combined in different positions.

The NoEm can also grow modularly to respond to growing space needs, starting from 23sqm. Advanced insulation systems have also been included that help regulate summer temperature at 24 degrees Celsius, with no need for additional air conditioning. During winters, the interior temperature is kept at a comfortable 15 degrees Celsius.

In addition to self-sufficiency in terms of energy, the NoEm also harvests rainwater and gray water, which is later recycled and reused within the house.
